From school buses to intercity and charter buses, motorcoaches help Americans of all ages and backgrounds get where they need to go. To make sure bus drivers are best equipped to do their jobs and keep passengers safe, TTD and our member unions:
Advocate for policies that guarantee that intercity bus drivers receive fair overtime pay so they can get the rest they need to safely do their jobs.
Support activities and policies that crack down on rogue companies and their dangerous behaviors that undercut industry standards.
Encourage the expansion of safety requirements, including those regarding entry and fitness requirements for new bus companies.
Promote the fair treatment of school bus drivers and support changes that improve the safety of the children they drive.
Insist on improving oversight of school bus services that are outsourced to private contractors to ensure that those contractors promote safe and fair working conditions for school bus drivers.
