Representing 37 unions and millions of workers across America

As the nation’s largest transportation labor federation, we represent workers in the following industries

Maritime & Longshore

Our maritime workers include licensed and unlicensed mariners, U.S. flagship workers in the deck, engine, and steward departments; marine engineers, deck officers, ferry workers, longshoremen, and more.

Rail

We represent passenger rail workers and the entirety of the freight rail workforce, including engineers, signalmen, carmen, dispatchers, electrical workers, maintenance workers, and more.

Aviation

From the ground to the skies, we represent airport service workers, transportation security officers, pilots, air traffic controllers, flight attendants, safety specialists, engineers, technicians, aviation professionals, and more.

Transit

In communities across America, we represent transit operators, service workers, mechanics, federal and municipal transit employees, and others who support public transit systems and services, including the bus and metro.

Public Service

We represent workers in the public service and safety sectors, including letter carriers, school bus drivers, and fire fighters. We are proud to represent not only the workers who build, operate, and maintain our systems, but also those who protect them.

Construction & Manufacturing

In the building trades, we represent workers in painting, dredging, construction, and more. We also represent manufacturing workers who ensure that federally-funded infrastructure projects are made with American materials.
