Washington, DC – Greg Regan, president of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD), issues this statement on the fatal September 25 Amtrak derailment in Montana that killed three and injured dozens more:
“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by Saturday’s fatal Amtrak derailment, including three passengers who tragically lost their lives, and dozens more passengers and crewmembers, represented by TTD unions, who were injured.
“We also express our deep gratitude to the first responders and community volunteers who dropped everything to tend to those in need.
“Rail labor unions are committed to working with investigators to determine the cause of this horrific accident and prevent tragedies like this from happening again in the future.”
