TTD Mourns Loss of Former President Sonny Hall

By Admin

WASHINGTON – Greg Regan and Shari Semelsberger, President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD), issued this statement about the loss of former TWU and TTD President Harold “Sonny” Hall on January 13, 2022:

“We join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and the entire labor movement in mourning the loss of a true pioneer in transportation labor, former TWU and TTD President Sonny Hall.

“Brother Hall was an early and powerful voice behind the creation of a national coalition of transportation unions that carries the voices of frontline transportation workers in the halls of Congress and the Executive Branch.

“Early in our organization’s history, Sonny stood up often and with purpose for the core of what TTD was created to do: unify transportation unions around a common agenda focused on creating good, union jobs, making sure they are safe, expanding collective bargaining and worker protections on the job, and push for investments in our national transportation infrastructure and system.

“We will forever be grateful for Sonny’s leadership and service and will do our very best to carry on the vision he helped to shape and advance.”
