Rep. Chris Deluzio and several other legislators are urging their colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate to finally pass legislation for stronger train safety regulations on the third anniversary of the Norfolk Southern train derailment disaster that has affected communities around East Palestine, Ohio, and the Darlington Township area of Beaver County.
Deluzio appeared with Rep. Mike Rulli of Ohio, Rep. John Garamendi of California, Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada, Rep. Mike Lawler of New York, representatives of associations for railroad workers, firefighters and labor unions and others at a Feb. 3 press conference in Washington, calling for Congress to resume efforts to pass the Railway Safety Act of 2025.
