“The American people have spoken, and they have clearly and decisively chosen unity over divisiveness, leadership over chaos, and working-class values over corporate greed. On behalf of the millions of transportation workers represented by TTD unions, we congratulate President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their historic victory.
“Voters recognize that few periods in American history have demanded leadership from our elected officials like the one we face today. Despite attempts to silence their voices and put up barriers to their votes, working people turned out in record numbers to elect leaders who will put their interests first. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have proven they have what it takes to guide our country through the worst public health and economic crises in a century. They have shown they are committed to addressing staggering racial and gender inequality. They will push back on attacks on workers’ rights. And they will fight for the kind of smart investments in our transportation network that will grow the middle class and improve our economy.
“It is now incumbent upon all of us to come together, uphold the principles of our democracy, and swear in a government that will tackle these challenges head on. Only by standing together as Americans can we move our country forward and create the kind of thriving economy where all Americans can prosper.”
