By Admin

Washington, D.C. – Edward Wytkind, president of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD) issues the following statement in reaction to the resignation of Anne Ferro as chief of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) on Friday:

“TTD extends our gratitude to Anne Ferro for her five years of unwavering commitment to improving motor carrier and driver safety in the United States. During her tenure as FMCSA Administrator, FMCSA implemented crucial new safety regulations, established educational tools for the public, and undertook strategic and targeted efforts to crack down on offending carriers.

“Anne’s strong leadership, firm grasp of the issues, and willingness to engage with individuals and groups within and beyond the labor movement leaves her successor with big shoes to fill. While she will be sorely missed, we wish Anne the best in her newest endeavor.”
