With more than 4 million miles of public roadways, our interstate highway system is key to keeping America moving—but investment in our highways and bridges is flagging. To ensure that our highway network remains safe and modern, and our 70,000 structurally deficient bridges are repaired and replaced, TTD works with its unions to:
Urge members of Congress and the President to act with foresight and pass long-term, sensible legislation to keep the Highway Trust Fund solvent.
Keep the politicians honest as they offer gimmicks in place of real long-term funding solutions.
Address the infrastructure funding crisis currently leaving our bridges and roads structurally unsound and in need of repairs.
Encourage the maintenance of prevailing wage laws that ensure that highway construction workers have access to fair pay.
