Transportation Security Officers are on the front lines of ensuring a safe and secure aviation system in America. They are the eyes and ears of our airport security system and they deserve a strong union voice on the job insisting on proper staffing, comprehensive training and adequate resources necessary to perform these vitally important jobs. And these professionals deserve a seat at the table as decisions are made that impact the security of American air travelers and aviation employees.
Workers in the transportation industry – both private and public – understand from decades of experience that collective bargaining provides a path forward in demanding the highest standards for safety and security throughout our transportation system.
The 32 member unions of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO support the right of these professionals to elect a union representative, and specifically we support the American Federation of Government Employees, AFGE, as the voice for these employees.
