Washington, DC — Larry I. Willis, president of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD), issues this statement in support of the American Federation of Government Employees’ (AFGE) challenge to President Trump’s recent Executive Order to severely restrict the rights of federal workers:
“The Executive Orders targeting federal employees issued by President Trump are nothing more than a bald-faced attack on the rights of working people to have a say on what goes on in their workplaces.
“Transportation labor stands with AFGE in their efforts to fight back against this cruel and illegal attack, and ensure all workers’ voices are protected and heard. Government employees —including the thousands of workers who support our nation’s transportation system — have a legal right to union representation and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.”
