Unless Congress acts now, hundreds of thousands of transportation workers will be forced into unemployment on October 1, sending our economy reeling. These workers are doing their jobs and keeping our country moving through this economic and public health crisis. Now they need Congress to do their jobs by passing this PSP extension along with other vital economic relief.

Washington, DC – Larry Willis, president of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD), issues this statement in response to President Trump’s decision to walk away from Coronavirus relief package negotiations
In a letter to Congressional leadership, 36 organizations explained that physical distancing measures, including stay-at-home orders, have taken a serious toll on demand for public transportation services. It is shameful that this White House would threaten to veto a transportation funding bill over such a simple, life-saving measure.
